Just installed this today. I found it installed easily without any problems or side-play as another reviewer experienced. I could not understand the included instructions, but if you can remove your old seat, you should have no problems installing this seat post.

Turn the rubberized collar dial tighter to reduce side-play. Tighten the hex bolt on the bottom of the post to reduce the travel (it compresses and stiffens the internal spring). I just left it as received, and it works great!

The Up-down movement is supposed to be 40mm, but you should expect half of that in use. This is because your body weight will press down on the suspension when sitting on it. The heavier you are, the more it will be compressed during normal use. During use, I found the 1/2 - 1 inch (10-20 mm) travel is sufficient to dampen the bumps. It feels to me about double the comfort of just my gel seat alone.

Some reviewers said its cheaper quality but so far it's great and just as heavy and durable as other bike posts! It's great for a cruiser or comfort bike!

Originally this item shipped to the wrong address because of Amazon's One-Click Default settings. I needed to cancel the order (Amazon is supposed to refund me), and wound up picking up another one from a different vendor.

I only put about 150 miles on this seat post before removing. It moves around horizontally too much for my liking, and adds a lot of weight. I tightened the tension screw to the max and this really helped smooth out the ride but it is still a little heavy for my liking.

I think that for really really long touring runs (Century++ rides) it could make a major difference for many people. I found that on a 75 mile ride, I felt just fine at the end and would have continued on if it wasn't for lack of daylight. In fact, I still felt like I had plenty of energy and there was literally no fatigue with this seat post.

I cannot attest for its durability over the lifetime of a bicycle.
